The fest focuses on the Hogwarts staff and select friends (so it’s right up my alley) and gives us twelve glorious days of HP-themed fic and art.
Run by the estimable therealsnape (who is, probably not coincidentally, a regular contributor of some of the best stories) with the aid of the wonderful kellychambliss, since 2010 it’s produced some of the best work in the fandom. This year was no exception.
All the pieces were just stunning, but I’m going to rec some of my favorites here before the January 9 reveals.
Selected correspondence from the Hogwarts Archives, in the form of personal letters between Librarian Irma Pince and a schoolfriend she refers to only as 'M'. These extracts span the years Pince spent training at the National Library of Magic, and are a window into the lives of two young witches in the mid 20th century. (HA 144/5 .k17 1961-1964 passim)
Sybill is feeling more confident as the school prepares to reopen after the Battle of Hogwarts, which is nice for her though whether it really makes her less irritating is for her colleagues to judge. A turn of events requires the teachers to decide whether they really want to carry on just as before.
