I love the expressions on each of their faces—in them, the artist captures everything I like to imagine about this relationship: He is clearly pleased with himself for capturing her elusive heart, and she is happily resigned to having been captured. It’s a lovely, tender moment made bittersweet by the context given by the title and the quote at the bottom of the piece.
