This gem by dueltastic is a fabulous character study masquerading as a Christmas fic masquerading as a raretrio fic. As a steely-eyed pragmatist with a kind heart, Aberforth can’t quite see his way toward keeping a convalescing Severus Snape hidden in the Headmistress’s closet–even if the former potions master a) killed Aberforth’s brother, b) is thoroughly unpleasant, and c) used to sleep with Aberforth’s girlfriend. What makes this fic really hum–besides some really great lines and excellent humor–is the trenchant observations each of these three prickly characters makes of the others.
