War is never simple, even if you want it to be, and neither is recovery. Long before Voldemort arose there was another war and another set of soldiers.
"War Heroes" is full of the kind of AD/MM I love—angsty, with lots of moral ambiguity and deftly woven backstory. This very young Minerva and not-so-young Albus have emerged from the Grindelwald war with deep scars, and the comfort they take in one another isn't easy (or especially comforting), but it is very believable.
