Glimpses into the lives of Petunia, Minerva and Augusta during the events of The Deathly Hallows.
I love seeing the events of that awful year through the eyes of these three formidable, but very different, ladies. The author shows them very much as they are in canon, but with more depth. We see surprising things in each of them: Petunia's wavering over the fate of Muggle-borns reflecting her love for Lily; Minerva's moments of despair, driving her to seek comfort in an unexpected place; Augusta's forgiveness of what she sees as a betrayal. As difficult as the events of the story are, it leaves one with a distinctly hopeful feeling.
