Recs from HoggyWartyXmas 2022

HoggyWartyXmas 2022 has finished posting, and once again, I find myself in the difficult position of selecting just a few from the bounty of wonderful works the fest has offered up.

Since its inaugural go in 2010, HoggyWarty has been among the standouts in the crowded field of Harry Potter fandom fests, not only because of the consistently terrific fanworks it’s showcased over the years, but also because of the supportive community and, most especially, mod therealsnape and co-mod kellychambliss.

The fest has always felt like a real party, with fun mod posts by some of Hogwarts’s most illustrious (or infamous) denizens, and it has always been one of the highlights of my fannish year. Even in the years I wasn’t able to participate (because, you know … Real Life sucks sometimes), the warm, lively, funny, and generous community of fan creators at HoggyWarty uplifted and cheered me, somehow making the prospect of the year to come a brighter one.
