Yes, I know it’s only September and most of you haven’t even had your first Pumpkin Spice Latte yet (I’ve already had two, but only because Mr. Squib presented them to me, and far be it from me to hurt his feelings by not drinking them), but Fest Season is nearly upon us, so it’s time for fandom folk to think about what they want to create this year.
Going strong since 2010, HoggyWartyXmas is, without a doubt, one of the best fests in the HP fandom and consistently produces some of the best fic and art in the fandom. Part of what makes it unique is that it focuses on the Hogwarts staff and their contemporaries, so the work tends toward the unusual and the mature (in the sense of theme, not smut, although there is usually some of that for those of you who like your fanworks on the hot side).
It’s an exchange, and sign-ups are limited, so if you’re interested in producing something for the best darn community of HP fans around, consider visiting the sign-up post before it closes on September 19th. And even if you’re not inclined to create for the fest, definitely mark your calendar and bookmark the fest page for the grand opening of the fest, which is TBA but usually falls around December 23 or thereabouts.
